Recruit Marine, Become part of the Few the Proud

A Recruit Marine is someone who has taken the challenge to be part of the few and the proud. He or she knows that it will be thirteen weeks of high stress and a lot of sores muscles. Marine bootcamp ensures that Recruits will provide basic trained Marines no matter what background they came from. A Recruit Marine must know that once in Training he or she loses all individuality and must become part of a team that needs to work together to overcome obstacles.

Marine Recruit training has many challenges. Most recruits will find that even if they have mastered one area of the training whether it is Physical Fitness, academics, swimming; there will always be at least one area where everyone needs help. Mental challenges are the most difficult to overcome during Marine Recruit training, being away from home, being yelled at constantly, being told you are worthless, expecting more than what you think you can do, these are some challenges Recruit Marines go through every single day. They must learn to overcome these challenges in order to be successful.

USMC Drill Instructors only have thirteen weeks to make sure those who graduate from Marine Recruit training are ready to be effective anywhere in the world where Marines are found. Drill Instructors will make sure Recruits are exposed to high levels of stress at all times to make sure they learn how to handle the pressure.

The United States Marine Corps prides itself on being the best military branch in the US Armed Forces. A Recruit Marine knows that if they apply themselves for thirteen weeks they will be part of a world known military organization which represents US interests in the most professional manner, to become a United States Marine is the ultimate goal, not easy but doable.

How do you apply for officer candidate school? Do you go through boot camp? What happens if you fail officer ?

candidate school? I have a Bachelors in Social Work is that degree good enough for applying to officer candidate school will they accept it? Do I apply through a recruiter or how do I apply? Is their a certain score on the ASVAB that I have to make before applying to officer candidate school? How hard is officer candidate school is it like college academics or what educational level is it like? Is it a lot of common sense or is it a lot of math? The branches Im interested in is the Army or the Marines. Do they discriminate against females wanting to become officers? I am not currently in the army or marines. I am not enlisted but I have heard that you don't enlist if you have a bachelors degree and want to apply to officer candidate school can someone please explain this to me? My recruiter won't he says he's to busy.

If the Navy needs someone with a degree in social work, then they will accept you. if not, then no. all you have to do is find a recruiter's office and mention that you want to join as an officer and they'll tell you what they need at the time. Officer candidate school isn't that terrible. It's a lot of classes on military standards, etiquette, history, and what not to do as an officer in the Navy. Of course, you still wake up early and go to bed late, since it is still a type of boot camp. There is physical training, since they have to make sure you can pass your physical test, but it's nothing too gruesome. I'm in the Navy, so this is for that branch....I don't really know about the Marines and Army. As far as your last question goes, yes you can have a bachelor's degree and still enlist. I have quite a few friends who have done so, but I wouldn't recommend it. If you can go officer, then you should. The pay is waaaaaay better! Hope this helps and good luck!!
